Mindfulness is becoming more mainstream in the United State due to scientific research during the past 20 years that backs up the usefulness of mindfulness in treating depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, pain, insomnia, eating disorders, relationship problems, and other conditions. Mindfulness is paying attention to the present moment by being aware of where we are and what we are doing without judgment. Participants will body scan meditation, sitting meditation, and gentle yoga. Participants will also be encouraged to engage in discussions and reflections about their personal and collective experiences during practice. It will be a time of self-reflection and self-discovery. Class limited to 20 people.
