- An appliance, like a TV or radio

- Hardware refers to the physical components of
the computer
- CPU the chip that does the work. In a box/case
with A: drive (for floppy disk), CD/DVD drive

- Laptop has everything in one case

- Software refers to computer programs that tell
the hardware what to do and when to do it.
