The
South Norwalk Branch Library, 10 Washington Street, will continue its
series of discussions on education-based films, with the screening of “No
Textbook Answer: Communities Confront the Achievement Gap.”
The goal of the documentary is to increase
awareness of the issues around the achievement gap and to advance
community efforts in this area. A good example of how communities work
together with their school systems, the documentary has been shown on PBS
stations across the country.
This free event will take place in the Friends of the Norwalk Public
Library Community Room on the top level of the Library. Guests will
include: Lauren Rosato, Norwalk Education Foundation President; Shirley
Mosby, Norwalk Branch NAACP First Vice President and Education Committee
Chair; and Dr. Susan Marks, Superintendent of Norwalk Public Schools.
Registration is strongly suggested. Please call 203 899-2790 x2 for more
information or to register.
