Getting a Library Card
Library Card Application

The following IDs are acceptable by themselves, if
they are signed, valid (unexpired), and have your current Norwalk address.
Please be advised that anyone with out the above ID will need two Valid IDs in other to
established identity and Norwalk residency to obtain Library Card.
These are list of ID that could be used to establish Identity:
- Employer ID with Photo
- Driver's License (Any State)
- Alien registration with Photo "Green Card"
- US military card with Photo
- School ID with Photo
- Social Security Card (signed)
- Credit Card (signed)
The following can be used to establish residency (valid in name of borrower,
Norwalk address):
- Norwalk Tax Bill (For residence, not property owned or business owned)
- Utility Bill
- Lease
- Personal mail
- Auto registration
Consider other IDs? Checkbook with name and address? Pharmaceutical
prescription printout?
If you live in another town in Connecticut please bring
your current hometown library card with you to check out materials from
Norwalk Public Library. A first time user must show a second form of
identification to verify identity.
Replacement fee for a lost library card is $1.00.
