- 100 Best Picture Books - The books that make up the list are chosen by the New York Public Library.
- Caldecott Award – Awarded each year to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.
- Children’s Notable Lists - Each year the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) identifies the best of the best in children's books, recordings, and videos.
- Geisel Award - The Geisel Award is given annually to the author(s) and illustrator(s) of the most distinguished American book for beginning readers published in English in the United States during the preceding year.
- Newbery Award – Awarded to the author of the most distinguished contribution to children’s literature each year.
- Nutmeg Award Nominees - Books are meant for kids in grades 4 to 8 to find and read quality and high interest book titles and then help pick a winner for Connecticut favorite book each year.
- Pura Belpre Award - Presented annually to a Latino / Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.
- Sibert Award - Awarded annually to the author(s) and illustrator(s) of the most distinguished informational book published in the United States in English during the preceding year.
