The Norwalk Public Library System, in partnership with Norwalk Community College’s regional series of events and exhibitions focusing on Lincoln, the Constitution, and the Civil War, will host Dr. Matthew Warshauer, Central Connecticut State University Professor of History and co-chair of the CT Civil War Commemoration Commission, Wednesday, November 7, 2012, 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Dr. Warshauer, a Staples High School (Westport) 1984 graduate and Norwalk Community College 1985-1986 attendee, will discuss his book Connecticut in the American Civil War: Slavery, Sacrifice, and Survival (Middetown, CT: Wesleyan University Press, 2011), selected as the region's One Book One Region reading program to commemorate the regional series. Multiple copies of the book will be available October 8. 2012 at both the South Norwalk Branch Library, 10 Washington Street and the Main Library, One Belden Avenue, where the event will be held.
