Children will learn basic musical concepts like rhythm, pitch, and tempo, while participating in fun, hands-on games and activities. This event is free and open to the public. More… The Norwalk Public Library System in partnership with Norwalk Community College’s regional series of events and exhibitions focusing on Lincoln, the Constitution, and the Civil War, will host a book discussion for children at its Stew Leonard III Children’s Library of the South Norwalk Branch Library. The book discussion will take place, 4:00 - 5:00 pm, Monday, January 28, 2013 and will feature Civil War on Sunday from the ”Magic Tree House” series by Mary Pope Osborne. The book discussion will introduce children to the life and times of the Civil War and may involve dressing up and acting out for the time period. The book should be read prior to attending the discussion, which will also include crafts, activities based on the characters' lives, and some read aloud. This event is free and open to the public.
