“Survival of a Small City”
 
Norwalk Preservation Trust and the SoNo Alliance Group will screen the 1986 award-winning documentary, Survival of a Small City, 12:30 – 2:15, Saturday, June 15th at the South Norwalk Branch Library, 10 Washington Street.  The documentary offers unique insights into the pros and cons of preserving and rehabilitating the Washington Street area in South Norwalk from 1984 to 1986.  It offers a well-rounded view of the project from the perspectives of the community, the business owners and the developer.  Included in the film are Bill Collins, Norwalk's mayor at the time, former Norwalk Economic Opportunity Now (NEON) Director Bobby Burgess and architectural historian Mimi Findlay.  Collins and Burgess will be on hand to speak along with Tod Bryant, Director of the Norwalk Preservation Trust.  Registration is available online or by calling 203 899-2790 x15902.
