We interrupt our regular story times to present Al deCant’s “Out of this World” story time. Put on your groovy sunglasses and join Al, Jill, and Pete the Cat for an interactive musical program celebrating the Summer Reading Theme “A Universe of Stories”. The trio will bring to life Pete the Cat Out of this World by James Dean and Papa Please Bring Me the Moon by Eric Carle with interactive songs that children and their families will be singing long after the story time concerts are over! This program is suitable for all ages through grade 5.

Al deCant has been an educator and musician for over 25 years and has served as an elementary school teacher, principal, and director of curriculum and instruction. He holds a BS in Elementary Education, and MAs in Elementary Education, and Educational Leadership. He actively performs throughout New England for schools, libraries, hospitals, and local fairs. Al’s musical styles have been compared to everyone from James Taylor to Randy Newman, but he clearly expresses his own unique style of children’s music.
