A Day in the Life of a Connecticut Civil War Soldier The 27th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry Civil War re-enactor Julius (Jay) W. Hull Jr. will represent the 27th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, demonstrating the daily routine, clothing, equipment, and weapons of soldiers in the nation’s biggest single crisis, at the Norwalk Public Library, One Belden Avenue, Saturday, December 8, 2012, 1:00 – 3:00 pm. This program is presented in partnership with Norwalk Community College’s regional series of events and exhibitions focusing on Lincoln, the Constitution, and the Civil War. The 27th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry was a Connecticut Civil War unit drawn from the New Haven area. Mr. Hull, a retired sergeant from the Fairfield Police Department, has been reenacting the Civil War for the past 18 years. He will be in full corporal uniform, from forage cap to brogans.
